Approached by Oxy Petroleum and Cape PLC to undertake the retrofitting of a failing MSE wall, on a work to permit basis, AR+R manufactured and supervised the installation of 168 off H110 anchors c/w 5.5m stainless steel tendons, pattress plates and wedge grips.
The Project was expedited in two phases. The first phase to test the insitu capacity of the anchors and the installation methodology. The second phase being the actual production stage. Production involved coring holes through the existing MSE panels and installing the anchors to a depth of 5m. These were then fitted with load plates and wedge grips and then stressed to the required test loads and locked off. Hulk was the anchor of choice due to space constraints, the operational superiority of the system and the technical resources backing the product. The entire project was expedited with hand tools. Hulk crews working together with crews from Concrete Canvas expedited the project over a four-week period.
